Rocky Mountain Elk

Afton, Wyoming 1988

This is my Elk, taken near Afton Wyoming. This was a 7 day guided hunt, with Peterson's Hunting Camps. That's Everett Peterson behind me. Everett's a real gentleman, and an excellent hunting guide. Everett's outfit is known as Yellowstone Outfitters now, and I highly recommend them.

This bull sports four points, about 33" wide. Not bad for my first bull. A Mauser 98 in .338 Win Mag was the tool of choice.

Bob's Elk 1988 This bull was taken on the last day of the hunt by Bob Brancati. He's a nice bull and Bob worked hard for him. Also a four pointer, our bull's were very close in quality. Everyone in camp took bulls during this hunt, including one 6 point. Two big bucks and two respectable bulls made this hunt one to remember.
